Saw it driving into work today, Mexican plates. I wonder if I can get a vacation house there to register imports at haha....

I concur. I was just looking on bmw.mx and you can get a 3dr m140 with a 360hp 6 cyl in it. I WANT ONE

lots of people where i live running around with german plates... cars are cheaper over there... but if you buy there and register it here for dutch plates you still have to pay the difference
must be a loophole somewhere coz i dont think its exactly legal to live here but have your car registered there.. least not for more than a few months

It’s not legal, but how will they prove the main driver does not live in Germany?
I’ve been driving on Dutch plates in Germany for ages now. No issue just yet...

i have no idea how they would prove it... and i guess for now nobody cares that much
just something i noticed... tax avoidance and all.... risky business

I’ve already had my car approved by the German TÜV inspection. The only thing I need now is German insurance. And German plates . Just a matter of time, there’s just so much more bureaucracy here than in the Netherlands...
